Breaking News!!!!
We are delighted to announce that our club has been awarded a development grant of almost €90,000 to fund floodlighting and Phase 1 of our pitch upgrade plan. We have also confirmed the acquisition of 4 acres of land behind the main stand to build 2 new pitches which are badly needed to cater for our growing membership. This is the culmination of a lot of hard work by a lot of people on our executive over many years and the start of a major club development plan. More details to follow and we will publish a dedicated page on our web site as well as provide updates at our AGM on Thursday, December 5th at 8pm.
Fixtures
3 big games this weekend across 3 codes for you to look forward to and of course to get out and support the teams.
The action kicks off Saturday afternoon at Conneff Park in Clane when our U17 footballers will host Kilcullen in the A Championship Semi-Final. The team will be looking to extend their unbeaten run; they have recorded 3 wins from 3 so far at this grade including a win against rivals Naas in the last round. Throw in is at 2pm in Clane.
That is closely followed by our Minor Ladies Footballer championship semi-final against Celbridge. The team will be looking to avenge their defeat to the same opposition in the round robin stages earlier this week. Throw-in is at 3pm in Celbridge.
Meanwhile our U21 Hurlers will contest the rearranged Haven Hire U21 B Championship Final against Leixlip. The game was postponed 2 weeks ago when Leixlip who had recorded a big win against Coill Dubh in their semi-final were unable to field a team in the final. Let's hope the break hasn't affected the players as they were in flying form after the semi-final win over Kilcock and the minors victory in their final.
The Clane Óg Academy is back this weekend on Saturday morning and takes place in the sports hall at Scoil Mhuire secondary school for kids aged 5 & 6 from 10-11.15am and in Scoil Phádraig boys primary school for the younger kids from 10-11am. New Ógres are always welcome. Follow #ClaneÓgAcademy on social media for news and schedule updates.
Finally we will host the O'Shea family U12 football blitz this Sunday morning with a start time of 10am; there will be teams from Rhode in Offaly , Ashbourne in Meath , Celbridge , Clane , Naas ,and Eadestown.
Best of luck to all teams and management!
