On Bank Holiday Monday, barely 24 hours after recording a gutsy come from behind win against a really good Sarsfields team our u13 footballers travelled to Leitrim to play Carrick on Shannon followed by a visit the Blueway Water Park on Lough Allen.
There was great excitement as the players gathered in the car park of Clane GAA at 9am; they couldn't wait to hop on the bus and get going.
Despite the bus journey where lots of energy was expelled singing and 'messing' our lads produced a strong performance in a game with two evenly balanced teams.
Many thanks to Carrick for hosting us and for the refreshments afterwards in their clubhouse. Thanks also to Fergal Reynolds (Dermot’s brother) for helping us set up the day and hopefully we will get the opportunity to host Carrick in Clane sometime soon.
After the game and the refreshments it was time to get back on the bus and head onwards to the Blueway Water Park. The lads (and Dads) had super fun for the remainder of the day and while you would expect the bus journey home to be a bit quieter, that wasn't the case!!
Our thanks also to all the parents and coaches who travelled on the day and to the boys who were a real credit to the club and their parents.
Great day out all round!!
