Our u12 Division 1 footballers drew 5-13 apiece with Naas tonight in an absolute thriller of a match that did the main pitch at Conneff Park justice. It was a real game of 2 halves with Clane dominant in the 1st half; the boys probably should have been further clear at the break but were wasteful in front of goals notching up 8+ wides while Naas were clinical all evening; in fact they only registered only 1 wide in the whole game. The 2nd half conditions made life difficult for both teams with a heavy shower early on but Clane started well and went further ahead. However Naas who are unbeaten this year weren't going to lie down, they kept fighting and clawed the lead back before going ahead late on. It would have been easy for Clane to drop the heads but Clane through sheer determination fought back to go in front yet again in a real a ding dong game played in a tough sporting manner. Naas came back one more time and the match ended in a draw which was a fair result and the 5-13 to 5-13 scoreline was a fitting score to reflect the efforts of both teams.
