Clane Senior Footballers put in another solid workman-like performance to earn a win over near neighbours Raheens on Saturday afternoon in their 2nd round Europcar Aldridge Cup fixture at Conneff Park. Building on their previous win at the first round stage against Celbridge they made it two competitive wins from two to get their season off to a great start. Clane went in 6-2 up at half time having played with a strong wind in the 1st half. It was 50:50 in the possession stakes but Raheens found it hard to break down a tight and disciplined Clane defence; and when they did manage to work a scoring opportunity their shooting accuracy often let them down. The 2nd half continued in much the same same vein but Clane gradually got on top to finish stronger with the substitutes contributing to a solid team performance.
